Because of increased customer demand and its growing fleet of super-midsize and large cabin planes, Gulfstream Aerospace plans to hire more than 200 people and invest $55 million in expanding its Appleton, Wisconsin facility.
The Appleton expansion will include a 73,000-square-foot (6,782-square-meter) paint facility, which will be built utilizing a paint booth design created by theairframer and Wisconsin-based paint booth maker Global Finishing Solutions.
When fully operational, the facility will be capable of painting up to 48 aircraft per year, allowing the Appleton location to offer complete airplane completions.
In the third quarter of 2023, it is expected to open.
Engineers, mechanics, avionics technicians, and skilled trades and craftspeople are among the engineers, mechanics, and avionics technicians that the business plans to hire in Appleton. On June 9, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., Gulfstream will have a job fair at its Appleton location, N687 Discovery Drive. L.D. Buerger, Gulfstream's vp of completions, noted, "We are in a moment of tremendous growth and are presently hiring for a wide range of positions."
Gulfstream has also added an office area for completions customers and pilots, a wood finishing area, an enhanced shipping and receiving area, and a completions hangar with an employee breakroom and lockers to its Appleton location.
Gulfstream's Appleton expansion comes on the heels of new facilities in Fort Worth, Texas, and Mesa, Arizona, as well as an expansion of its customer care call center in Farnborough, England.
